We had the pleasure to Interview one of our best friends - Stealthsonic! We can talk much about their fluent and quality style, but I may suppose this as inappropriate simply because you already had the chance to blow your head with their freaky tracks. They are with us for almost year, bringing new color to the MP3 mayhem whose we have given home here. So sit back, relax and rock some tune, reading the exclusive share of thoughts on the board of HomeTrip.net!
HT: So let’s get started. First of all I would like to give you our apologies for the delay in our interview date
Stealthsonic: The delay only made it more desirable.
HT: I fully understand and we at Hometrip are grateful for your responsiveness! Well, the first question I would like to ask is who are you actually?
Stealthsonic: Stealthsonic consists of me (Freakoftheweek)and my twin-brother (Psycrow). And since this is a musical interview we tend not to use our real names but our musical aliases. We teamed up in the year 2000.
HT: I fully understand, our community is open for talents and as you know we respect your privacy, so no names will be shared
. What is your musical flavor, your favorite styles?
Stealthsonic: Our main inspiration has always been Big Beat and its pioneers, like Fatboy Slim, Prodigy, Chemical Brothers and so on. We are also inspired by Downtempo music in its different forms, such az Trip Hop, Acid Jazz, Dope Beats. Lately we’ve been fascinated by Dubstep, IDM, Punk and even Classical music. Hense the variety in our productions
HT: Yeah, I was really impressed by your tracks when I heard them for the very first time! Your style really rocks. Usually most of the people will ask you what software are you using etc., but I believe that this is not the essence of the music, so I would like to ask what is the concept of your music, what you would like to achieve with your songs?
Stealthsonic: We have actually achieved a lot with our tracks, but not on the commercial tip. the thing with our music is, that each song has a certain history behind it. Either that, or it is dedicated to someone or something. So when your inspiration comes from the common aspects of life we think that our main goal is to respond to those aspects. We could say that with each track of ours we aim to reach out and touch a certain part of the listener’s mind… and we hope we did good!
HT: As for me - you did it perfectly bro
. I believe that every song guards a pattern of our life, right?
Stealthsonic: Thanks for the props mate, cheers! The songs really do guard patterns, especially electronic songs, they are the druids who light up the right way for us, they protect us from losing our minds in this crazy world of ours, they carry our synthetic DNA if we might say. Sometimes they even unlock the cage that holds your alter ego. All those things make electronic songs a very important and special part of the listeners’ lives
HT: This is one of the reasons for the existence of this humble community, indeed! As a close friend, tell me your honest opinion about the music that spreads in Bulgaria in this very moment.
Stealthsonic: To be honest with you we have been astonished time and again by the quality of our fellow native underground producers, you guys are something special, something that every musician should be proud to be a part of. As we are
The good thing about it all is that no one is trying to emerge among the others, no one is trying to fit any kind of stereotype block and this is what makes each and everyone of you guys unique and special in your own way! We feel lucky to know you
HT: This is interesting point of view. I expected to hear something about the commercial shits and the people that doing it. Actually your thoughts touch one different aspect of the music and I will agree that there is no worth of value spending time on the commercial Bulgarian music. Do you believe that the BG underground have future and what we can do about the progress?
Stealthsonic: Well we might start by expanding the Hometrip ranks. We’re suggesting frequent community member meetings and, in a later time, some gigs maybe. Just imagine the whole idea of Hometrip on tour!
HT: Let’s hope that this will happen in the near future
We have some ideas that will be shared soon and upcoming forum to be able to communicate better each other! About you as music artist, what is the most important? Do you make music only for fun or you’re having plans to sell it?
Stealthsonic: Well we’ve always wanted Stealthsonic to become a SKINT records recruit, so we have been thinking about making music as a way of livng. But on the other hand having fun has always been our main objective, because if you’re not having fun doing something you like, then what’s the point doing it, right?
Stealthsonic: By the way we’re having fun right now, doing this interview, so we decided to mix some loops in order to celebrate this next step in the development of the Hometrip community you will be able to hear it first hand right after we finish off here
HT: There is nothing to please us more than a good piece of inspiration in form of a musical track!
One of the last questions I have for you is related to the previous one. If you start to make music for living don’t you afraid that you should be driven by the taste of your “customers"?
Stealthsonic: There’s always such possibility but we don’t think things will come to that. If we ever sign a record deal it will be with someone who picked us because of who we are and because of the music we’re making. We’re not some fuckin mainstream pop star, a being, created by some producer’s greedy fantasy, we made ourselves, so we hope to blaze our own trail, and not follow others’
HT: I am sure that you will achieve your goal and I wish you luck on this! The last question is - would you perform in live if there is such possibility?
Stealthsonic: Of course mate!!! It’s all about the live gigs, this is the way for us to get in touch with people… plus we’ve always pictured ourselves behind all the gizmos and stuff on the scene, it looks cool
HT: That’s great! I really like your attitude dude, thank you for the time you spent on this interview and keep the good work! It is a pleasure for us to have you guys with the fresh, blazing presence your music is spreading!
Stealthsonic: Thanks mate, right back at cha! The pleasure is mutual. And thank you for Hometrip.net!!! Oh, here’s the track we promised… enjoy!
